Playing It Safe
Children are uniquely vulnerable to chemical exposures. They are exposed every day in their home, their schools, outdoors, and through the food they eat, the air that they breathe, and the products that we use. The Canadian Partnership for Children's Health and Environment (CPCHE) has developed and delivered this interactive training across Canada. The training is designed to maximize on a multi-sector approach to capacity building by including networking and strategy sessions. We encourage you to bring your business cards and/or organizational material to share with other participants.
In this training you will gain knowledge and tools that will enable you to: - Identify the environmental risks of highest concern within your sector;
The Participants Participants will include early learning practitioners, child care providers, health care professionals, educators, public servants, community development workers, and service providers who work in the area of preconception, prenatal and/or child health.
Myriam Beaulne is the Health Promotion Coordinator for the Canadian Partnership for Children's Health and Environment (CPCHE) based in Toronto. She has many years of experience in environmental toxicology, ecology, scientific studies, and environmental law and a strong commitment towards the protection of our environment and our health. Myriam has worked for government agencies, educational institutions, labs and non-profit organizations in Canada and the United States. She aims to bridge science and policy and raise public awareness of the dangers of chemical exposures.
